Mentoring Program

HAND IN HAND

Description:

his program is to empower and allow the youth in our community

correctional institutions, and schools,

a chance to make positive life choices that

enable them to maximize their

personal potential

. Being paired with our

mentors (members of the

community), this will

allow

our youth

opportunit

ies

build close relationships

and develop a sense of

belonging in an environment

of physical and social

safety.

Athletic Program

PHYSICALLY FIT

Description:

This program promotes healthy eating and physical fitness. The

activities involved in this program will include indoor and outdoor sports,

exercise,

nutrition, healthy eating, pros and cons about winning and losing.

Educational Program

AFTERSCHOOL READINESS

Description:

This program promotes and gives assistance for any educational

need.

GUILTY staff and youth will focus on tutoring in educational subject

matter

(reading,

writing, math, etc), reasonable and critical thinking, exam

preparation,

homework

help, college and technical school preparedness.

Workforce Program

I WORK HARD FOR THE MONEY

Description:

This program prepares our youth for the workforce with

interviewing

dos

and don'ts, resume and coverletter building, appropriate

attire, appearance, and

speech, mock interviews, apprenticeships and

internships.

Extracurricular Program

MY CREATION

Description:

This program is to promote the creative geniuses that are within

our

youth. "We" as GUILTY staff, youth, and the community will teach as well

as learn

from our youth. The talent pool ranges from music, art, poetry, dance,

instruments,

creative writing, singing, sewing, cooking, and the list goes on.

Health & Lifeskills Program

IT'S ALL ABOUT ME

Description:

This program goes beyond the surface and discusses topics such

stress, self-esteem, peer relations, among other issues. It will also promote

leadership, volunteeri

g, public etiquette, community service and service

learning,

among many more.

Included within these programs, there will be numerous activities that will be initiated
periodically that are not currently listed. For example: Career Day, College visits, Cultural
History, Public Official Day, Learn a new language, Court and Jail visits, among many more.
